The Iron Range city’s median home price remains well below both the state median and the national median, creating ongoing opportunities for first-time buyers and investors.
The data shows median home prices in Hibbing holding in the $130,000–$140,000 range — compared to a statewide median approaching $340,000. For buyers priced out of Twin Cities suburbs or looking to maximize purchasing power, Hibbing represents a compelling alternative.
Local factors contributing to affordability include a relatively stable supply of mid-century housing stock, lower-than-average property taxes compared to metro markets, and economic stability provided by ongoing Iron Range mining operations.
